We'll cast off all of our cares and worries and have fun together.

Today is another sunny Wisconsin morning. We're staying at Uncle Peter's house. Up on the second floor, the sun rises and a brilliant orange color flashes, even through closed curtains and shades. It wakes me up; it's so fantastic. Even though I'm sleepy from the night before, I can't resist throwing open the blinds and letting it saturate the room. I love seeing the sun rise, as in Oregon, it doesn't always happen. Simple things.

Grandma Marmie is starting her adventure up to Green Bay today. The movers arrive at 10:30 and she will depart Madison at Noon. What a change this is for all of us, to have the last of the Jackson-Morse elders be away from Lake Mendota. We looked through Grandpa's family files today and came across a letter he had written from May 18th, 1960 to Grandma and the kids, my father and his brothers and sisters. Grandpa had been away at war, but was returning home within the week to rejoin his family and prepare for a summer's worth of fun and householding. Grandpa says "This summer we'll cast off all of our cares and worries and have fun together. Swimming, sight-seeing, and outings together. Everyone will do their share in keeping the house up." What a fantastic sentiment to the celebration of summer and being together, along with working together. It was so great to hear Grandpa's wise words today, reminding me of what is most important.

We'll head off to Middleton to help Marg organize the final pieces for the truck. Rory will swim and enjoy the sun. Everyone is in good spirits.

Hope you are doing much the same. Thanks for the comments and support. It's great to have you on the journey. Soon we'll update on the S.Dakota/Minnesota driving and adventures.

Much love,
